African Independence

Look at the links to each of the following countries.  Complete the tasks for each country on a separate piece of paper.

1.  Algeria:  Read the article and answer three (3) of the questions found within the article.  Make sure you write down the questions that you are answering.


2.  Kenya:  SKIM the article and answer the following questions:

  • What was the Mau Mau movement?
  • What were some of their achievements?
3.  Ghana:  Read the news article and answer the following questions:

  • On what date did Ghana get its independence?
  • Who was the first prime minister of Ghana?
  • What types of problems do you believe Ghana was going to have?

  3. What do you think Guam should do?  Why?
